(Trip I did last weekend with a buddy (TXHC) We headed to Wolf Island to spend the next few days wandering around a sweet little island , was not large by no means( I'm guess 150yards x 350-400yards) but had 6-8 Deer trapped on it due to the water rise...we had found a few dead deer as we wandered the island.... Great weekend..
Used the New Advance fire kit, actually 2 Darth Maul style :eek: (lol)
I brought along my Hennessey hammock,sleep pad,summertime slumberjack sleeping bag,snowpeak trek 700 w/Ti spork,BHK scout & machete,ESEEfire kit & advanced firekit, Black Diamond head lamp ,vario,2L bladder & 2 nalgene bottles and some misc gear all housed in my CFP90 pack.

Awesome pics brother, looks like it was a great time out and a great place to be. I love camping on small islands it has a feeling all it's own. Gotta love rabbit roasted over open flames!

I'll be glad when my advanced fire kit comes in so I can quit lusting over yours, you having two already is just wrong! Good to see you still have that little fire rod.

Great pics, looks like an awesome trip. That first pic of the spider is down right freaky, Jesus' shrunken head. LOL Chris

The Rabbit was very tasty but the rabbits Heart was better :)


it is the Scout ,my buddy had the pathfinder

I prefere the Scout over anything BHK sales.

Pathfinder on top with Scandi grind, Scout on bottom flat grind

What is the exact name of the BHK scout? I know they have a Maverick Scout, but it looks quite different from yours which looks like the Pathfinder PLSK1. I really like the PLSK and the scandi grind but I also really like the grind on you scout which appears to be flat but I'm still trying to get all the grinds memorized by how they look. And how doe the BHK machete work? It looks like you have the 12 inch version so I'm wondering how it works compared to a longer machete. I recently acquired a Fiddleback 14" machete and can't wait to get out and put it to work and since the BHK machetes are very close in price I'm debating getting one pretty soon.
