The Lakota Hawk is becoming one of my favorite knives. I had this knife out clearing brush today and can't find any fault with it. The finish is as nice as any knife I own (made in Seki, Japan). It is very thick at the spine and is beautifully ground to a razor edge. These knives don't get a lot of press, but make excellent outdoor blades. I own the very durable folder too (Li'l Hawk), it's equally tough and well made. If you haven't picked up one of these, I highly recommend them.

The tattoo belongs the lovely lady who bought me the Lakota (and the Busse FBM, Fisk OVB, Yard Hook, etc.). Now if I can just keep my wife from finding out about her.....

Anybody else a fan??

Kyp,

Yes! I mean no, because it's really all about the knives and the woods (the alcohol, women, etc. are just additional bonuses of being alive).

Seriously, these knives rock I am looking to buy a Fin Wing (the smaller version of the Hawk) at some point. I am surprised that they don't have a bigger following on this sub-forum.

New rules guys. You now must display your knives upon a beautiful tattoo'd womans anatomy.
Great style man

The Lakota Lil Hawk rode on my belt through most of the 1980's and did a lot of work. Tough knife scraped alot of gaskets in the boiler room, stripped alot of wire too. The knife was conciderably worn over the years, yet the lock up was still solid and no play in the blade.
