Beautiful knives! If it wasn’t for Leslie Tomville Leslie Tomville and his post of a bespoke lamb he had made by Ashley Harrison I wouldn’t have been able to have one made as well. I don’t do social media so I went through the shop and a wonderful lady Jane hooked me up with Mr. Harrison. They are more expensive but still a good price. He also made me another with ancient bog oak handles.

Those are beautiful! I might have to do another order soon.

Here is the most recent lamb from A Wrigts.

Everyone just as good as the last and all are different one way or another.

One outlier that doesn't lock up all that strong, but the rest are very sharp , strong and snappy and broke in well with just a little effort.

I love em. All thumbs up 20231112_083442_Outfocus~2.jpg

I'm part of this 'club' thanks to Dan sf fanatic sf fanatic who very kindly sold me this Camelbone. I don't do any social media so getting hold of a Harrison made Lamb Foot was proving elusive. I like white/light coloured scales and they contrast very satisfyingly with an even patina. The build & finish was excellent, Camelbone most attractive and a quick sharpening & stropping had it nicely set-up. The pull was very tough initially-and I don't fear such types-but it was a bit impractical. However, persevering with flushing out and using grinding paste got it to a very good level indeed.

My thanks too to Greg Leslie Tomville Leslie Tomville for raising awareness about this option :)

Beautiful looking knife, love those covers.   You wouldn't get away with even printing little alone publishing Billy Bunter now.🤣🤣🤣

Leon, she is indeed a wonderful person and then some ! I’ve had many conversations with her that have been great! Customer service is her forte!

Dan sf fanatic sf fanatic - Jane is indeed a great person to work with. I ordered this two-blade Lambfoot in September 2022 and the wait time was to be six to eight weeks with standard shipping. Come December and the knife hadn't arrived so I sent an e-mail inquiring about the knife. Ebony wasn't an available choice when I placed my order so, in the e-mail, I asked if they couldn't give me Ebony covers. She replied that she would make the changes, and they'd send the knife before the week was out. When they shipped, they upgraded the shipping to express ant no additional charge and as pictured they used very dark Ebony. Great lady to do business with.

They seem like great folks to deal with. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again.

cudgee cudgee Thanks mate, been really pleased with it and it shows potential for improved ageing - unlike homo sapiens...

As for Bunter/The Magnet, yes very un PC 🤣 Class snobbery, absurdity, corporal punishment, FAT Shaming, kind of racism, fawning over the rich, but very funny & satirical and a product of its age. See George Orwell's essay on Boy's Weeklies, he points out that even in 1910 it was absurdly out of date, being aimed at a middle or working class boy's readership who knew nothing about massive priviliges , gilded lives, public school elites or living in stately homes, cosseted existence but the comics were just harmlessly funny, gorging food, being lazy, lying, end.

Bunter, his size anyway, was an extreme rarity in his era - mine too- but these are the days of obese kids and pets, call it progress....
