Here is a big "Whacker" that Jimmy and I made. He did most of the work, with me doing primarily a bit of striking, polish, browning etc. Blade is over 11" x 2-1/4" wide, has a very nice hamon that didnt show up in the pics.

Dangit, Lamey! You keep putting the bevel so it'll cut better for right-handed people.

What a beautiful piece, though. Thanks for sharing it.

Very nice looking piece, I like it a lot. The other whacker you sold recently looked very well done as well. Keep up the good work! Like Danbo said - 'I want it'!

Matt,KILLER blade! Great work!
Can sort of see the hamon best in bottom pic, striking browning and the wrap and knot are very pleasing aesthetically,as well as providing a secure grip.
btw/who did the wrap?

Love the props.

Looks great! I really like it a lot.
How did you convince Jimmy to actually do some work ? :D

thanks guys. Jimmy started this piece last summer, I helped him a bit on it then (as a striker). It has been ground/heat treated for about 6 months, and I finally polished/browned it, tested etc... Jimmy did the wrap last week. Ive been cutting with it in the woods since then.

Flava, theres no convincing Jimmy to do anything, just got to wait till hes in the mood. In time he may come up and make a knife or two again, just gotta wait and see.

That is just too neat, Matt and Jimmy! Man would that add to my small collection.:)

Matt,

You make some seriously exciting steel

imho, Matt has a great eye, his designs are terrific, and his prices are right! I am obviously not alone, because everything disappears off his website in a hurry. I have been coaxing Matt into making a slightly more finished/refined blade than is his usual, and hope to see the result in the next few weeks.

Nice work, Matt & Jimmy! I can just make out the hamon and it looks good. Just the type of chopper I like, let's see some pics of it next to a pile of bamboo remnants...:D

That baby looks hungry! Nice work Matt and Jimmy. I can't wait to see what else you come up with.

I saw this on your website Matt.............Excellent work. Keep it up.
