Thanks, but it's not a hamon, it's laminated steel. What looks like a hamon is the transition zone between two types of steel.

I have a twin to this in damascus else I would have grabbed it.. I used it this weekend to whip up a big batch of beef stew.. You're gonna love it Joe! ;)

Thanks, Otis. Phillip makes some awesome knives. This one arrived yesterday and I look forward to putting it to the test over the weekend.

I got a similar Damascus from him a few years ago and gave it to my son-in-law. He loves it. I see a pattern here. ;)
