Here is a picture of Yangdu, Lance and Pala.

Lance is a long time HI friend who buys khukuris. He has been using HI khukuris with good success for ten years in the mountains of Utah and Idaho. Lance is a veteran practitioner of the Korean martial art, Hwa Rang Do and has attended Bando clinics. He uses his khukuris in his practice of martial arts.

Interestingly, Lance has also visited in Nepal so we have many shared places and experiences to talk about. He is one of us -- frequent visitor of the HI forum and a top notch fellow.

Welcome to the Reno HI stagestop and Uncle Bill's cantina, Lance!

At Lance's own request, Pala has put him to work cleaning and polishing a couple of khukuris!

Yes, it is, Julian. That is the original Bura sent to me. Lance is also holding the last of the deerhorn silver mounted khukuris. It is going to its new home today.

Lance has noticed that several references have been made to Knives '98 but nobody mentions his article that is in that edition. He wrote, "Daggers of the Asmat." It's an interesting piece about a New Guinea tribe that makes daggers out of cassowary bird leg bones.

I keep wonderin about that one that says it hasn't been looked at close enough to determine if it's Cassowary or not.(vbeg)

If you mix milk of magnesia with vodka and orange juice do you get a phillips screwdriver?

Khukuri FAQ

Tall ... 6 or 7 footer ... Banspati look short in his hand - I think Lance can handle Janawar Katne very well!

Lance is 6' 4" and weighs 180. In excellent physical condition for a fellow his age. I was impressed with his knowledge of khukuris and knives in general. His trip to Nepal (and 31 other countries!) helped, I think.
