I received my PSK (personal survival knife) recently from Landi Knives, and took it for a little woods walk. I had asked Mr. Landi via email to make mine with natural micarta scales and a leather sheath. He did an excellent job on both the knife and the sheath. I added a short braid of orange 550 cord for visibility. This was no torture test, but a nice day of hiking and some light blade usage. Just me and my new knife getting to know each other.

It was a beautiful day in the green.

After popping off a score of arm hairs, The PSK clipped a sprig from a Black Raspberry bush.

The natural micarta scales are quite thin. I like this in a belt knife, as it hides well under an untucked shirt.

And actually, it's not that much thinner than the handle of my RAT3.

Here's the sheath. Retention is nice and snug.

I found what I think is a Blue Jay feather. The Blue Jay is our state bird.

And naturally, I stuck it in my cap and called it "macaroni!"

Zouch! She bites! I had not cut into any of my main cables. So, I applied some pressure, and the red, red, croovy soon stopped.

Overall, the PSK is a great little knife. It's a small blade with an almost full-length handle, and comfortable despite it's slender profile. The micarta is grippy, and the angles are smooth. It's 1095 steel should be easy to keep sharp in the future.

My Landi PSK rides on my belt as I type this. It excells at average daily tasks, such as letter and package opening, cutting 550 cord, and lunchtime food prep. As my first custom blade, I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the review, we don't get too many Landi reviews here so it is nice to see one. They look like fine blades.

I have a PSK and a PSKK from John and they are some lovely knives. My favorite part about the PSK (which you mentioned) is the almost full sized handle, it gives you an excellent sense of control and works wonderfully.

Good review, I hope you try a couple more of John's knives.
