"Lanny's Clip" Picture Thread

Dangreco, that is my Lanny's that Keith produced for me. It rides in my pocket every day and I'm quite proud of the fact that I own number 1. I got to know Keith quite well during the time it took to have the knife made and I look forward to owning more of his fine work.

Here are some pictures I took.

Haha congrats mhill on owning that! How's the pull on that?

That's pretty cool you should ask that. I told Keith I like a strong pull. I know there are always discussion on what's a good pull, but I really like something heavier than most. So he convinced me to go with a nice 5 pull to the half stop, and then he stepped it up to a strong 7 for me from half to open. I really like it.

:)Here's a couple old Lanny's I made some time back, One is in Stag an the other is Linen Micarta I believe, This was the first pattern that Tony gave me when I started making Slip Joints an its a good work horse of a knife. ---Joe Allen---Knifemaker.

Well...if I must

Kerry's Lanny's Clip #3 and Kerry's one and only Tennessee Jack (although I hear he as orders for them now)

Campbell and Kerry:

There are some mighty fine knives on this site, but that Tennessee Jack has got to be one of the five best. Every time I see it, I stop to take a nice long look at it. That is a well done knife. A question, though, does it have shields on both sides?

Why didn't they think it would work? In theory it shouldn't be any different than a resized trapper, then again I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

It's a great knife.

The 2-blader Lanny's that Reese did had a full length Wharncliffe blade. That blade stood up very high in the pocket in the closed position. It just doesn't look as good as a trapper than it does as a jack configuration in my TJ rendition.

Also, one of the cool side notes about the Lanny's clip is that Tony's pal Lanny lives in Tennessee. When Campbell suggested that as a name (we were brainstorming about that one evening before I finished his knife), I immediately texted back to him "THAT'S IT"! After bouncing the idea off Tony, it got his blessing for the final name....it was fitting.

BTW...the caps make nice for putting the knife together as the back pin can really be hammered good. On the jack version, I make the front (bolster) a little smaller and the caps small to match. It makes the knife look longer and less stubby....(damn...Im tellin my WW secrets :p )

Yep...Campbell requested that...PITA! :D

WHUT!!!ever:rolleyes::D

Let's look at more Lanny's Clips :D....Oh, here's some. After taking many hours of tips over the phone from Cramer and Menefee, I think Bose is getting the hang of it. ;)

The Lanny's Clip is a pattern I can't get enough of. Those last group of pictures from Kerry really show why.
