lansky blue sapphier hones

can anyone tell me if the blue sapphire hone is used with or with out oil? I just ordered one and was wondering if you oil it or use it dry?

I go dry. Use scotchbrite pads and some soap to clean. Works great. Polishes up to a brilliant shine.
