So , I just purchased 2 Lansky Responders , they are avertised as having 440c steel on Amazon , eBay , and everywhere else in between , well the blade on 1 is stamped 440c and also the clamshell packaging states 440C , and the other one is stamped 9Cr18MoV on the blade and the clamshell package states 9Cr18MoV , any thought on what steel is better , I can't find anyone that lists it in the 9Cr18MoV version .

9cr18mov is supposed to be the Chinese version of 440c.
I can't really tell you which one is better, but i assume 'real' 440c is probably a bit better...

From what I could find , I'd tend to agree , just wondering if it's worth the trouble of sending the 9Cr18MoV back , and requesting it in the 440C .

Not worth the trouble. 9cr18mov holds a edge very well. You won't notice any difference.

It's my understanding that both steels are very similar. Use it and enjoy it. It's a neat design that I like!

I like the design too , in the last week I bought every version of the Mikkel Willumsen knives that Lansky makes , 2 Responders , 1 Responder X9 , 1 World Legal , 1 Madrock , and 1 Blondie .
