This is not a complaint. I am curious I had my sharpener in a pack in my car this last summer adn finally went to pull it out of the pack which was sitting in the basement I hadn't moved it since this summer that is the sarpener ou of the pack. When I opened it this is what I found.

I used regular oil nothing fancy and the car coudn't have gotten that hot I live up north maybe at best a little over a hudred but not on the day I had the pack in there. What do you supposed happened I would like to try and figure it out before I decide to get another. They said it wasn't covered but had no idea themselves.

Even in Northern Saskatchewan, a nice hot summer day will melt a VHS tape left on the dash, or in the direct sun light.

Quite simply, you baked your sharpeners.

Cheers,
D

WOW,I'm suprised they melted unless they were in direct sunlight.even if it got to 100 or 110 in the car, they must have too low of a melting point apparantly. If the plastic of your dashboard didn't melt neither should your sharpener. The only damage I've seen from heat inside a car was warped music CD's,but they are thin and a different type plastic.I guess you should find an alternative backpack sharpener :p

Thats how I feel it was one of the colest summers in a long time they have been in the car before in hotter weather then this year. I am thinking the oil over time has caused the plastic to change possible even at a 116 which was one of the hottest in car tamps I have seen here nothing I have had in the car did this. Especially in a day pack in the back seat so is it possible for long ter oil exposure to weaken the plastic. Some one from some of the southern states should ring in hopefully on a lansky that did this.
