Lanyard for short tactical sword for SHTF?

That a Gage? I don't think it needs it. The potential problems would outweigh any benefits you might get, in my opinion.

I don't see a problem it certainly won't hurt you in terms of utility for that one. If you want a lanyard go for it.

for me dropping a sword at any time and having it then flop, swing, and bounce on a cord a few inches from my body is something that i would find knd of alarming.
notice not many old swords have or had lanyards.
