Lanyard for SNG?

I was looking at a few of Shelby's photos of the SNG and I noticed that the lanyard hole was very close to the tip of the blade. I know that on my old Chris Reeve Mnandi there was a hole but you could not use a lanyard without it being cut off eventually. Is this the case with the SNG or will there be enough clearance between the blade and lanyard? Thanx.

Only run the lanyard through one of the two sides and your lanyard will stay intact. Put it though both sides and your lanyard will be cut.
