Lanyard material?

i use either gutted std para cord or spectra cord myself the spectra is about what CRK and MT uses for fobs ..........

REI has some cord similar to the spectra bit its not available in black and i use black exclusively for my fobs, a "fob-snob" i suppose lol.

i like fobs on tip up folders to help draw from the pocket FWIW, also good on smaller folders to add some length to the handle.

...fob? Noobie moment...
but seriously what the is a fob?

thanks,
p

A fob is a short length of cord, usually knotted in some fashion, generally used to extend the grip on a knife, or make it easier to fish it out of your pocket. Also used on flashlights, keychains, etc.

In other words, it is what people mistakenly refer to as a lanyard (a lanyard is a length of cord used to attach something to something else, such as a knife to your wrist or a tool to your belt, to prevent losing the object in question when you drop it :D )

thats correct yablanowitz, i tie mine in a hangmans noose knot, lotsa knives come with them, like microtechs and reeve sebenzas.

they work best on a tip up knife imho, that way it can help ya draw the knife, on a tip down imho they are more just to look cool or extend the handle length some.

What can I say, I used to be a sailor. I KNOW what a lanyard really is, I've used enough of them. :D

alright thanx all I have a plan in mind and will post some pictures once it's done (gonna take like 2 or 3 weeks...)
