Lanyard on a 110??

Maybe gonna change my name yo "Candyman"... lol

First... I appreciate all the love for this mod!! Desire for a lanyard on a 110 was what drove me to making these.

I won't officially say I've stopped making or installing the parts, but it has been quite some time since I've had the time to work on them.

I'll tell you what I've told others who have asked recently.... I have only a small quantity of the parts left at this time and when I get the chance to work on them, I'll let you know.
I'm closer to getting back to them then I have been in the last few years, but it's likely still months away.

If I have enough parts to cover all who have requested, I'll reach out.

Sorry for the crap news, but some times life gets in the way.

Good to hear that the possibility exists to get others. Put me on the list of a couple more!

I have drilled lanyard holes into two 110s and one 112. Well, actually, only into the brass of the 112 and attached a bail like on a marlinspike knife. The first 110 I drilled I was fine. The second one, a beat up 1990s era knife, I was off by a hair and drilled through the lock bar spring. The knife is junked now. Unless you have better tools and skills than I do, I recommend the MT_Pokt MT_Pokt mod.

32 years....!?
That's cool.
Thanks for your investment in so many lives.
👍
Thank you. Scouting is time well spent. By the way, can you open the link in my post and see the pic? I don’t do this much.

MT_Pokt MT_Pokt I’ve always wanted one , but thought I missed the boat. Please add me to the list of hopefuls.

Keep me on your list, too. I was sad a couple years back when you said you were taking a break from them, but I'm glad there may be another opportunity.

This got me to thinking, it looks like the hole on the 110lt could be used as a pattern to locate a lanyard hole in a standard 110. It would, by default, not interfere with the spring or blade, but it would be close to the pin, so it may affect structural integrity.

MT_Pokt MT_Pokt how do I contact about a lanyard. If I send you my buck 110, can you modify it so one can put a lanyard on it? If yes, how do we arrange it? Thanks.
I have the same question, I wonder how he makes the metal loop part? Wonder if he has tried some place like send cut send (SCS) to make the flat metal part. Maybe run part through a tumbling process for cleanup.

The issue I see with this is I bet it costs him more to make than he charges. In qty of 10 you could most likely get metal part for $5.00 each from SCS. This requires an investment of $70.00 ish with shipping etc.
Then new rod pieces no idea let’s say $1.00 in materials.
Then return shipping of $11.00 in a small USPS flat rate box with tracking.
That’s $19.00 with no labor. If you’re doing one at a time and had one hour labor in disassembly, reassembly and polishing. Then charged $30.00, which is ridiculously low unless your retired as a side job. You’re into it for $49.00 and still haven’t taken a trip to post office to mail it. If you’re only shipping one and have to make a trip to post office for that single knife let’s say it takes one hour round trip with shipping, that would be $79.00 to install that lanyard. How many people would pay that?

I apologize, but I'm still not working on these at this time. Yes, I still have a small quantity of parts, but time and other interests have kept me away.

Your speculation is adorable. 🫶
If I were someone who had zero knowledge of manufacturing, that's probably how I would've gone about it. A quick glance at the pic in my avatar:

should be evidence that perhaps, at the very least - I "know a guy" with a CNC cutting machine of some fashion.

A safe assumption would be that I do know something about manufacturing and distribution and perhaps applied my knowledge of those professions into a hobby where I could bring lanyard receptacles to 110s. 🤫
