lanyard or not

hey guys and girls I wanted to know how many of your like lanyards on your sebenzas and how many of you dont like them?

I took mine off my large Sebenza after a few weeks of carry. Didn't hate it or anything just decided I preferred to carry without it.

I also took mine off. They attracted too much attention visually and gave sticky fingers a place to grab onto. I know this firsthand after a coworker thought it would be funny to grab my knife while I wasn't paying attention. I kept my calm and asked him not to do that anymore but it got me thinking...what if I was in a crowded place and someone decided to do that?

I kept them on my CRK's at first and then decided to take one off. Now they have all been taken off.

The knives just feel better in the hand without them rubbing against the palm for index finger cuts and in general actually. I like the way they look but it is not worth having them just for that.

They are in a good position though. Knives with a lanyard hole on the back spine has got to be one of the worst places imo.

I like mine. When I have nasty fingers (oil, fish guts, blood, mud, hamburger, etc.) it gives me a place to grab without touching my pants to grab my knife.

simple lanyard for me:

Really like mine. I have a small Sebenza that I carry without the clip, in a calfskin pouch. The lanyard is what I first grab when reaching in my pocket. I like the lanyards with the cord tie bar. I like how CRK keeps adding new beads also, however I wish they would bring back the bead with the "CR" logo again.

Duluth Ultimate 9" Firehose shorts, the best friggin shorts I ever owned. Love 'em.

The pockets looks like they were made to hold pocket knives.

I looked at the shorts on the Duluth site and I have a question. Do they ride above your knees or do they come down and cover your upper legs pretty well? I don't like high-riding shorts (Daisy Duke-like) and I want to make sure they don't fit that way because I would be quite interested if they didn't.

Re OP: I go through phases with lanyards in general but I was never a fan of the original CRK lanyard. I don't like how it's basically fixed in the stand-up position the way they come and they're not loose enough to stuff into the pocket if desired. I also don't like the feeling of the thinner cord they use.

The leather lanyard I have on my Insingo is the only lanyard that's lasted longer than two weeks before getting cut off because of getting annoying for the same reasons some of the above posters mentioned. I think that's because it's so soft and malleable and I'm able to tuck in down into my pocket to make it less eye-catching. It also looks good.

I think they were made to hold tape measures actually. The 9" shorts ride just a tad above my knees. They also sell an 11" model. Yeah, I also don't like the high riding shorts, like we wore in the 1980's.

Yeah, I also like the lanyards long enough to stuff in my pockets, like in an office setting.

I like a simple lanyard with two knots, I put my index finger and middle finger between the two knots and pull the knife out.

I don't like having a lanyard or fob on my knives and only use them when they are needed, eg. when the knife could be lost in water or dropped a long way.

No lanyards on any of my folders, I like them to look as least conspicuous as possible.

I just got my first Sebenza and eventhough its not the original lanyard, I'm kinda liking it. I actually took off the OD Green one that was on it when I got it, and made my own out of gray 550 parachord... Looks pretty nice with the titanium.

The lanyard is the first thing I take off when I get my CRK folders :D

While I was buying/dealing for my Micarta Sebenza I was using the allen wrench to take the Sebenza apart and pulled out the lanyard before I even left the building :o

I like the way it looks, but hate that feeling on my palm and how it sticks straight up out of the pocket. I do have a leather lanyard from an older Sebenza that I owned and I will put it on my Umnmzaan once in a while but other than that I don't like the way it feels.

Prefer a lanyard on my daily hard use CRK's.. not so much on the nicer, office users.

Two of mine still have a lanyard, and two of mine don't.
If I'm going to the Dr, or some place alot of city folk may be, I'll carry one with no lanyard.
