Lanyard - what for?

a semi permanent lanyard sounds a fair idea to me. adapting the SAS idea mentioned earlier why not tie paracord around your waist with some left to act as a lanyard and maybe put a clip or something on the end or just use a knot to tie it to the knive and form a lanyard and when it isnt needed untie/unclip it and poke it in your pocket/clip it to a belt loop/wrap it around your waist again and tie it to itself? I might try that myself...
