Lanyard?

How many of you folks leave the lanyard on when using the pocket clip?

I took mine off thinking that it might catch on something, and pull the knife out of my pocket. I carry right front.

Lot's of guys like to leave them on, I guess they have a use for them.

I left mine on for about three days and then took it off because I found it got in the way while the knife was clipped in my pocket. I also did not have any real use for it.

As always...personal preference :)

I EDC a small regular Sebbie. It has both the lanyard and the clip left on it. I carry down in RFP (not clipped) and nothing else ever goes into my knife pocket.

I actually use the lanyard to pull the knife out of my pocket more than I ever thought I would. None of my other knives has one. The clip is only for a finger hold when opening the knife. I don't carry one clipped anywhere... too visible.

I like it. I took the lanyard off my first Seb., but left it on my 2nd Seb. and gave it a try and really like it. Tell us what you end up doing.

I either leave the original on or add my own lanyard. I find the lanyard to be useful for pulling the knife out of my pocket and on the smaller knives, it gives me a little more "handle" to hold onto.

When I got my 1st one, it had it, & I found myself using it. Not so much to pull it out, but to use as an extension of the knife handle (It's a small classic inlay).

I traded that off & got a small regular CGG w/o the lanyard (I believe). It got me thinking that maybe having it off is better. Well, I ended up trading that one for another small classic inlay, which turned out to be my original bocote wood inlay classic. It came back to me w/o the lanyard, but the gentleman I traded with sent it to me a few days later (Thank you). I put it back on the knife, where its been on there ever since. It's now my EDC & I find it can be useful in getting the knife out quickly, but more importantly, it does serve as an extension of the small knife handle.

I keep a lanyard on my EDC, a small Seb to help in drawing the knife from my pocket. I keep a lanyard on my large Sebbie (used for camping & such) for those times when you're on the water or the knife might be lost if you drop it.

Usually I remove the lanyard if I plan to carry a Sebenza often. I've had a problem with a lanyard only once, but it happened to a new small classic with a damascus blade. I was very lucky to notice it missing shortly after it happened. It had a few small scratches on the rear of the handle but otherwise it was ok.

I had picked up a heavy box from the cab of my SUV and I think the box pulled on the lanyard, "picking my pocket".

I usually change it out for another, like this;

or something like these where I braided the leather through a wooden bead that my
daughter made a while back;

One thing people sometimes do is slip the fob under your belt to help keep it secured
more, if it's long enough of course.

I prefer to carry without the lanyard. I just like to keep it simple with as little on the outside as possible.
