Lanyards on your ZT folders or no?

Do you guys put lanyards on most/all or none of your folders?

I got use to having a 5" lanyard (from the Busse store) on my A.G. Russell Acies and it did keep me from dropping the knife a time or two when removing it from my pocket. This led me to put lanyards on a few of my ZT's...a couple SMF's but they don't always lay right and can detract from the look of a very nice folder.

Just wondered if anyone else puts a lanyard on a new folder right away OR is this is stupid and should I break this habit. :D

Thanks and enjoy your weekend guys!

I use them on most of my Bigger Knives.. I like Lanyards

I wouldn't call it stupid. Sometimes it is good to have one, like in the field for me or when working for easier access. If I'm just casuall I usually do not use one though.

All my fixed blades have lanyards, but none of the folders do. As often as not, I don't actually have the lanyard around my wrist, at which point it's more likely to get in the way, either just during routine use or when closing the knife.

Recently I have gone on a bit of a scale buying binge for my zt's and so far all of my scales have come with matching lanyards. I think they are cool things to have and might put them on for certain pictures but prefer not to have them when carrying my knives. It is really just a matter of personal preference.

I'll sometimes put them on smaller knives to help a little with grip. Never thought to put one on a ZT though, as they're plenty big already.

SmF was too big to me..not to user friendly.. The SnG CC are my favs... But I sold all my Striders just like My Tilts and ZTs more.

I love my Strider's (specifically SMF's w/CPM-154) but there's no denying that ZT gives you more knife for the money (IMO). When I bought my first 0551 I knew that I could then spare my SnG...gave it to my son. For the me the 055X is just more comfortable in hand and I seriously doubt that it gives up anything in the strength department. I really like the aftermarket G-10(?)scales you have on your 0550 Gen II. Who makes those? Someone here on the forums?

Lanyards on all my folders, makes them easier to pull out of my pocket. All my are tip up so the lanyard is at hand.

Ya I need a lanyard, I use my 0301 like a machete and an axe and I can grab far back on the handle with out making my 0301 into a flying spear.

Chester,
What is that Blur that looks white in your pic? That Blur looks fine.

And rare from what I can Gather...Sold them to a local buddy Chris. I miss them sometimes haha

For a couple/few years I carried either a BM Skirmish 630BK1 or the Spyderco Manix C95 and never used a lanyard with either but some reason my folders feel a bit naked without one. It's certainly been helpful with my Acies but I'm pretty sure the rest would be just fine without one...if I could just get use to it.

I always, if possible carry tip up and have gotten use to the lanyard being there to help get then knife out of my pocket. I'm not sure why now but it just struck me this morning that I have a ton of lanyards sitting around here.

Oh well, just wondered if you nuts did the same...

Yes, a small fob is attached to all my pocket clipped knives. Much easier to get out of the pocket (especially the deep carry ones), and I use paracord that has a reflective stripe in it. That alone saved me from losing a 0200 one night.
