Lanyards ? Pros / Cons

See this pic...the square 'fob' is a sinnet knot. That's what I was referring to with the IWB thing I've been playing with. Picture that knife inside the waistband with the fob flipped over the outside over the pants, but inside the belt. Even better, that fob with a large knot on the end to snag the belt.

You could use something thinner like the noose knot with a large knot on the end too, make it easier to slip between the belt and pants.

It's not a sinnet knot, it's a solomon bar i just have looped. It's a braiding which, well tightened, will remain stiff enough to be a fob and to catch (spring effect) the pinkie finger when put inside the loop.

If what you want is a "fobclip" then, yes, a noose knot with a diamond knot on the end will be better.

I slap a lanyard on every knife I own, mostly because I think it looks cool. Luckily for me my wife knows how to make a "cobra weave" [ as Mercop calls it on his site] out of 2mm black leather cord so I just have to buy the cord. [no I don't pay her, she's slave labour]I also put a skull of some kind, made out of nickel, wood or bone on virtually every knife I own. [ yeah I know, I'm not very imaginative ,but the skulls make me feel like I'm like I'm a real bad dude]
On small handled knives I think a lanyard can perform a very practical function. For example on my CS Ready Edge, the thick lanyard I have on it, extends the grip to include the pinky finger which really improves the grip. I'm sure others have already mentioned that a lanyard makes it easier to grab for a knife and to provide purchase when vigourously using a knife.

Same for me. I lost the lanyard on my small Sebenza for a few days recently and I cursed every time I had to pull the knife out of my pocket. Once you get used to that little chunk of paracord, you become spoiled.

Absolutely right

I have em on everything in the "megafolder for right pocket" category. It helps with controlling the wave draw tremendously.
