Lapping film thread

Guys I've been looking for the last few days but can't find it. A good while back someone posted a thread where a guy had a video and was finishing an edge using 2" wide lapping film on a plywood "jig". I was wondering if anyone may still have that video, or the post it was in? Thanks.

It may have been a microfinishing belt, instead of lapping film. I remember he started the blade on a sander, then once he had the grind how he wanted it, he had a little jig which was nothing but a peice of wood and some clamps to hold the film down, and that's how he finished the blade. For the life of me I can't find it. Best I can remember it was a decent size operation. There was probably 4-6 sanders, and looked like 3-5 guys in the shop working on knives.

Normally you can use lapping films very much like any other stropping material, and with a steady enough hand you can use it with a trailing or leading pass. If using it for more involved work, it pays (IMHO) to use a drop of oil or soapy water to prevent it from clogging. Is very convenient in that it is available in AlumOx, SiC, or diamond and in a nice range of fine grit sizes for finishing.
