Would spreading a lapping solution (some fine abrasive suspended in a liquid solution) in between moving parts of a folder and then actuating the folder many times result in a smoother folder?

I have taken my delica 4 apart and lapped all surfaces by hand on fine sand paper. The action now is just amazing, super super smooth.

Then I thought I would take a look at my carbon fiber native which I bought and never used. Every metal part was covered in burrs and the action was very rough. I did a few quick laps on the spyderco fine ceramic bench stone to remove burrs and immediately it was smoother, but it could be smoother.

What do you think of spreading a tiny bit of 2.5 micron diamond paste on all contact surfaces to try to mate the surfaces in a smoother fashion?

The lapping compound will embed itself into the metal and ruin the action of a folder-as it can not be completely removed.

I use the Spyderco extra fine Sharpmaker "prism" on my bronze pivot washers. The high spots get a mirror finish, and the blades swings easily on the raised polished surface. You only have to polish the sides that face the blade.
