  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Laredo Bowie has arrived. But what is this thing for?

Hello Walt: I was an "officer of the law" in Fort Collins Colorado. Back in the Nixon Days and his devotion to the "War on Drugs" in the days when we started loosing freedom at in ever increasing rate, all in the name of protecting the people. Unfortunately the war on drugs is predating on the police - community relationship.

When you ask that question as John Public you will probably get a different answer than when you are wearing the same uniform they are. I sincerely hope not, but all too often you hear, No Offence, it is just my job"!

Runs with Sissors: Protect every feather on the bird of freedom with all your effort or you will loose it, we lost a few feathers in the last legislation session but it is an election year and the bird may get a change in diet.

For anyoe who seeks greater understanding of what I am talking aobut, Evan Napen wrote a book that I consider a must read. "The Declaration" isbn# o0-9670660-1-8. Evan and his Brother Lou wrote it, they are both attorneys who fight for those freedoms we too easily take for granted.

Well, since I am now licensed by the state of Texas as a jailer and a peace officer, and also am a credential carrying federal LEO, I could probably get away with carrying the knife. Back in those days, I was a long-haired overweight freelance writer.

I bought the knife caused I've fallen in love with Bowie knives. I plan to carry either the Laredo Bowie, or a Bear MGC, or maybe BOTH, as acessories in CASS competition. All I gotta do now is buy the firearms, the clothing, and the leather gear. Plan to call myself Bowie Bill.

Now, I gotta tell ya, rattlers and rabbits are good eatin'. But a 10-inch blade Bowie knife is a bit large for skinning either critter. Have to whup out that new Case folder for those jobs.
