I have had this one sitting around waiting to get done for a while. When I finally ground it out, I started to really like it. So here are the details.
It is forged 1095, clay coated with a very nice hamon. The spine is fileworked.
The handle is black linen micarta bolsters with mesquite burl. I love how this thing feels in my hand. It is held in place with pins, including a mosaic and acraglas.
The sheath...well this is the one that took me so long. I had it all cut out and decided that instead of doing a basket weave pattern, because it would take too much time, I would work on some of the scroll work I had been practicing. Well instead of a 30 minute design, it took me...well... considerably longer.
Dimensions
Blade - 9 5/8" tip to handle
OAL - 15"
Price - $425 shipped to US. I prefer paypal to matt@baileyknives.com, but will accept check or money order
The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.
Tried to get a shot of the hamon here. Those things are tricky to shoot!
