Recommendation? Large 4 inch folder ?

I have done lots of research but am still looking for a 3.7 to 4 inch blade folder that can be found for not more than $100.00 tops (new or used). No particular steel or lock but just want a hand filling scales and larger blade.

You could get a Spyderco resilience for around $50 or several of cold steels folders come in large and extra large sizes.

Cold steel 4max scout might fit the bill,or the sr1 lite as well ; 60-100$

Buck 110. You can get the standard 110 for around $45. The Pro version with S30v blade and G10 scales for $100. And then there are a bunch of other versions priced in between those, and some even lower.

Coming from a Spyderco fan it sounds like you need something from the Cold Steel Recon line.

3fifty7 hit the nail on the head. Definitely look at the Cold Steel Recon 1. Fits my hand like a glove. S35vn steel and g10. Super strong lock. I gave $70 for mine here on the exchange.

CRKT Fossil. $40 at Wallyworld. Nothing earthshaking, A few minutes de-burring the sharp edges that aren't supposed to be, and it's a nice larger EDC folder. Worth the few minutes it takes to smooth it up, in my opinion. And just as easily replaced if misplaced.

If you don’t mind a 3.5” blade, the CS AK-47 (S35VN) is also an excellent knife. The scales fit my fairly large hands well.

I second this. Definitely fills the hand, great ergo's, Tri-Ad lock, and easy to sharpen AUS10a. I got mine shipped for like 60 bucks.

Standard Buck 110 at around $38 plus tax. The standard 110LT is around $30. SKBlades (skblades.com) a supporting dealer, has the "Smoke Jumper" (clip point blade) and "The Shield" (drop point blade) 110LT special factory order knives with CPM154 blades for around $40 shipped.

BTI OLD TIMER or Schrade Old Timer US (used) Old Timer 25OT two blade slipjoint folding hunter. Has a clip point and a drop point blade. Both blades are right at 4 inches. (Saw Cut Delrin covers)

Marbles MR417 2 blade slipjoint folding hunter. (Imitation stag covers)
Again, clip point and drop point blades, both right at 4 inches.
