Recommendation? Large 4 inch folder ?

A Spyderco Endura (3.75") or a Cold Steel Broken Skull (4") are good knives and good choices.

I have done lots of research but am still looking for a 3.7 to 4 inch blade folder that can be found for not more than $100.00 tops (new or used). No particular steel or lock but just want a hand filling scales and larger blade.

Thanks in advance.
I’m gonna recommend you take a look at the Real Steel Sea Eagle. I have one and I must say it’s a very nice knife. It’s very well made and runs on bearings. In my opinion it fits your criteria very well.

CS Recon 1 is a great choice.

You said the magic words "hand filling". One of the most comfortable handles I've ever owned or handled.

I usually wear a XL glove and I like a thick, beefy handle. The Gator is .82" wide. If you like the handle on a Mora, I think you will like the Gator. Gerber seems to do a decent job on their 154CM. I've had no problems with mine. Plus it is well under your budget and made in the USA.

I normally don't like Gerber or endorse their stuff but the Gator is probably the only exception. This is a good budget knife for large hands.

My personal favorite 4”-ish are definitely the Police models. Spyderco packs so much Blade in such a slim package.
If I had to pick a second choice it’d be an Endura for the same reason.

Despite being so slim, they work for extended periods with zero fatigue in my hands, and I’m 6’6” with wide palms and long fingers.

 If you wanna get freaky :

Discontinued and over budget , designed to give the most blade possible in 4" . But other Cold Steel already mentioned are probably more practical .:thumbsup:

As you're set on girly little 4" folders you are going to have to miss out on what is possibly the best $35 knife purchase I've recently made, the 6" CS Luzon flipper (Benchmade Bugout for size reference):

Cold Steel Recon 1 is the perfect fit for these requirements. The tanto blade is ground the thinnest and will be the most practical.

I’ve almost bought one at least a couple times lol but I don’t know what I’d do with it except maybe annoy the wife :D

Sounds like you're looking for an Opinel No.12
It's definitely hand filling with a big blade!

Here's one compared to the Buck 110...

What a coincidence; that's exactly what I use mine for. If someone thinks flipping a regular size folder is annoying, try flipping a small sword around them and enjoy their reaction.

Bizarrely, it's actually pretty well done. Liners are skeletonized, it flips well and the secondary lock while initially quite tight broke in and seems to actually work pretty well at making sure the lock bar tab can't back out when locked.

Thank you, I was curious how the lock worked, I think I’m going to have to track one down.

Mine flips so well that I can flip it vertically with no wrist. That said, I flip it and throw some wrist into it to add power to the ludicrous thwack. I'm careful to make sure there are no dogs, cats, toddlers or people with weak hearts around before I do, though. I bought it telling myself it was a total silly waste of money that I'd never use, but I feel like I've already gotten $35 worth of joy playing with it.

Again, though, it's better made than it has any right to be for what I paid per ounce of the thing--most of the edges around the thing are even chamfered, excluding the edge of the blade and the swedge part of the blade spine.

For semi-budget hand filling comfort, the first thing that came to mind was the Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter. But I just checked mine, and it's only 3.5". So whatever the CS big brother to it might be. Maybe the 4Max?

Im sure you're aware of this; but I still have to throw this out there.
Rat 1 !!

This is the brutalica panomar next to a full size griptilian. I recommend the panomar if your looking for a big hard use folder.
