Large bladed hiking knife

If you are set on a big blade, the BK 9 is a good choice. Lot of knife for the money. And for a big blade it handles well.

But like others have said, a bit redundant with a hatchet. Depending on how far you're going, weight considerations and all that.

This little Husky is similar to a GF. Great combo with an ESEE 4 and folding saw. Highly recommend a folding saw. Fiskars makes a 7" for $10, Silky, etc.

For less weight, drop the hatchet. The 4 and a folding saw will do anything you need.

I carry a SAK and a pocket knife too (Buck Vantage Pro)

Could do with out the Buck, but like someone else said ... "I like knives" :D

Good luck - lots of good chices out there. Test a few, find what works for you.

$15 Mora is a great place to start.
