Just got another large micarta Calypso and have to say that I've missed this knife, when Steve had it for sale, not that he wanted to move it, he just needed cash for some belts, I jumped on the post and glad I did.
This knife has one of the most comfortable handles I've held, thick enough to fill the hand and contoured to fit nicely. The blade opens with an pronounced Snap and no blade wobble to be seen anywhere.
When I got this knife it needed a little touch up and that didn't take too long and is now hair popping sharp, that VG10 can really take an edge.
The blade is flat ground, plain edged and you can choke up on the handle enough to work using the very tip of the 4" blade.
I had, in a moment of weakness, traded my older one to a fellow formite, actually had two at the time and Chiro has one and LarryLuana has the other. Since these are no longer in production I think I'll be hanging onto this one and carry it everyday.
Last week I didn't have a Spyderco, and this week......lets see;
Large Calypso, plain edge, VG10
Jess Horn, plain edge, jigged bone handle, ATS-34, (this is the pretty one!)
Civilian, serrated, old style with aluminum handles (actually this is on it's way to me)
Moki, Sal had said that they made the one I have, here is a pic of it, got it via Mike Turber on eBay.
Mike had it listed as having ATS-34, Sal do you know this to be fact?
So, everyone list what Spydercos you own....currently own that is.
Thanks again Sal!
