Hello folks , I have this new knife to offer up for sale here . Since this was from only 5/32 "A-2 tool steel stock and I wanted it to perform as well or better than this design from thicker stock , I ground this in what I call a modified convex grind or a stepped flat grind . This blade is a 3 step flat grind then transitioned to a tight convex when I hand sand the blade . In so doing it this way , I am able to keep as much steel/meat as possible for strength and weight at the top of the blade . The 1st step was from edge to 1-1/4" up, then 2 steps at 1/4" each , this way I can move the grind line up to the spine with removing very little metal . I finish the convex grind and blend the lines while hand sanding . I accomplish this by using a flat piece of corian with a 9 oz piece of leather glued to it , this gives it the tight convex finish . To see how this type of grind performs go to post # 20 and watch the video in this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1316671-Short-Sword-in-the-Gladius-style . This blade was finished to a 600 grit then hand polished with Flitz metal polish .

enough said , now specs .

This was heat treated to an Rc. 61

O.A.L is 12-1/2"

Blade is 7-1/4" tip to handle , it is 1-3/4" wide edge to spine

Sharpened edge is at 6-3/4" and it is hair topping sharp . I leather strop and then paper strop all my edges , they become scary

Handle is Green Linen Micarta ( I could not capture the green in the pics ) , black liners and 3/16" Corby bolts with epoxy the affix the handle . Bolts used so the shock of chopping will not break loose the handle scales . Also a 1/4 304 SS Lanyard tube .

The lanyard bead is just a cheap bead from Joannes arts and craft store , I thought it look cool .

Sheath to be made upon sale , left or right hand carry , 8 oz leather

Asking $325.00 with fees and shipping in the USA included . Pay Pal or Postal M/O please . My PP is sandlot@chater.net
