Large chopper recommendations?

I am currently looking into a good, heavy chopper.
Requirements:
11-13 inch (or longer) blade.
weight between 15 and 35 oz.
Res-c, Canvas Micarta, or G10 handle.
Will be used mainly to cut Cedar(juniper), persimmon, a bit of Oak on occasion.
Kydex sheath preferred.

Right now I am between a Rucki, BWM, NMFBM and a 1311... I think the 1311 is gonna win.
Also, needs to be as "affordable" as possible.... Most likely 1311 or Rucki.
Any recommendations?

Basically, nothing like the 13-11 exists in any form anywhere else. Your best alternative would be a high end machete.

Hopefully someday we'll see something like a 3/16" MOAB.

1311 chops much better than the rucki. 1311s handle is better than the bwm, and the 1311 is much lighter than the nmfbm.

1311 is a great choice

My vote:

#1; 1311- fast in the hand, powerfull with no heavy feeling, a lot of punch.
#2; BWM- fast in the hand, not so powerfull as above, but i like it a lot- if its G10 you want, my vote goes to the BWM.

Have not been chopping nothing but air with my Rucki, same with my NMFBM. Think the NMFBM feels not so fast in the hand (too heavy). Rucki feels fast in the hand.

Good luck:D

Basic 11 or 1311.
Price wise the 1311.
I hear the NMFBMis a beast! I want one but price is very high. I am trying to decide the same thing. 1311 or Basic 11???

Basic 11 is thicker, I don't like the handle Busse used on the basics. The 11 is also very expensive. Thinkin about gettin the 1311 reground to a bowie tip, almost like a MOAB, but thicker (wider) at the tip.

Like everyone else has said 1311 is a beast. I scored one on the exchange a few months ago and love it. The res c handles are so comfortable it feels effortless swinging. And you can't argue with the price point.

Thanks to everyone who shared their advice! I will continue to research a bit more, pretty much set on the 1311. Please continue to add advice, PICS (hint:).

The MOAB is hard to beat as a large chopper. The 1311 is probably one of the best bang for the buck though :)

I like the 1311 for its light weight, nice price, and ability to chop.
The 1311 chops like a Beast.

I love my 1311s.. :D

That said... if you want to wear a silly hat, a croc hide vest and say "that's not a knife" in a silly accent the NMFBM is really hard to beat..... ;)

Andy, I love the NMFBM, but I hate the price tag. The only thing keepin me from lookin for a MOAB or NMFBM is cost. 1311 is still in first place unless someone talks me out of it soon....
