Hey all,

And thx in advance!

So 2 hours ago I walked into a junky pawn shop and walked out with a large classic for $50...

I am totally stoked and had to share with somebody! My wife thinks I'm retarded for bouncing off the walls about this, but man $50 bucks.

The guy was tryin to sell be some beat to death Benchmade 710 for $120, but then I saw this crk just sittin at the bottom of the case. I said "how much for that one" he said $70 cause it's aluminum:rolleyes:, I said $35, he said $60 and then we settled on $50. I knew all that hard core pawn watchin would pay off.

I do have a few questions...

How do I date the time of manufacture?

It has a very faded skull on the handle flat near the end and FTW somehow on the clip.

Look inside the scales for a date. You will see something like A02, meaning it was made the first 4 months of 2002, etc. The date is located near the hilt of the folder, near the tip of the blade when the knife is closed. There will be a date on the inside of each scale. Any pics would be also helpful. If its a genuine sebenza, you got a hell of a deal.

I'll give you $60 for it:D

If it's the genuine article, big congrats and good for you :thumbup:

Now give us some pics or your fibbin '!:D

FTW is the mark of charliemike/solidsoldier. I think I've seen a few knives with that mark on the clip, even a Loscha... I'm pretty sure thats his..... but I could be wrong.

the skull had to be a modification done by someone other than Chris because he wont put anything "scary" or "intimidating" on a sebenza.

hopefully this sebenza you got is legit with all the fakes rolling around. My fingers are crossed for you :)

Guys at pawn shops are not that stupid, I just hope this one was and you got the real deal, good luck.

Ok, everybody, on three...

3...
Pics, pics, pics, pics, pics, pics pics..

If you bought it for $60.00, that means the shop paid $30.00.

Good luck with that.

I smell Buwwsheet

FTW as in "Freemans Tactical Weapons" was used by Matt because it matches an already very well known "FTW". I doubt very much Matt did anthing to that knife as FTW is used by many people for the other meaning(s).

I also have a feeling this might turn out to be less of an occasion that one might hope, pics of the knife in question will clear that up though.

Call me an optimist, but I think he might have bought the real deal....here's hoping anyway.

Plus he didn't mention it being waved.

Somehow I'm smelling something funny with this post and the other one about looking for the owner of a lost sebenza, but then again I must be wrong, things like this do happen within days of each other, from first time posters.
