Large classic for $50

First of all I dont know crap about whatever you are talking about dinokay, I posted here cause I like knives and used this site for research. I bought my para2 cause of the reviews and opinions expressed here. So when I thought I found something cool I registered and posted.

Don't let the guys get under you skin. They aren't actually calling you a liar by saying that if you can't prove it with photo evidence then you are lying, they are just teasing you so you will post a picture of your find. There are so many fakes around these days that it would be easy to be fooled. Posting pics here will bring out the fans and they will probably be able to tell you without even handling it in person whether or not it is a fake.

And the naysayers about the price... well... it would be a tremendous deal at that price! I think it is a mixture of disbelief and good old fashioned jealousy. Who wouldn't want a Sebenza for $50?? Even though I am not a fan, I would have jumped on that in a hearbeat!

Thanks for the welcome and I'm hopin it real. If not then it's a real quality fake.

Good to see a new face around, and I hope you got the real deal. If you did, come back here and crow like a barnyard rooster!

While the knife is indeed real there is one big problem that goes along with a price like that. It was more than likely stolen and the thief/seller just had no idea what he had so sold it to the pawn shop for what ever he though was good. I can't imagine any one that knows what a Sebenza is selling it for any where near $50 never mind less.

Maybe someone passed away and a relative didn't know what it was worth? I could imagine my family looking at my knives and thinking, "what the hell do we do we these?" For all they know a Sebenza comes in a box of cereal (they don't give prizes away in cereal boxes anymore by the by. I feel sorry for my son)

Could also have been lost, someone picks it up, uses it for awhile, then sells it to a pawn guy who doesn't know what it's worth either.

I'd leave the markings on it.

It tells a story.

That skull is a little spooky. I would keep it too, it gives it alot of character but it's not over the top.

Great score.

You might be right Haze, but you can't assume that, it really could be anything. Maybe someone lost it and the finder sold it. Possibly the owner passed and the family was strapped for cash and didn't realize the value. ... If only knives could talk

Edit: RiverRat84, beat me to it!

I'm a natural cynic and always see the worst, there are number of honest reasons that knife was that price too. I was no way trying to imply the OP has any dishonesty here, he got a hell of a deal and good on him.

You and me both. Its an exercise to put a positive twist on things, but keeps me sharp:D

Nice find, go buy a lottery ticket.

Re the FTW. I can't see anyone claiming that as "theirs", it's just a very old saying/abbreviation. I prefer: Fight To Win over the popular biker FTW.

Congrats on the sweet find!!! I am always roaming looking for unsuspecting fools in pawn shops, antique stores and yard sales but cant say I have ever gotten this darn lucky!!! One heck of a deal!

Beauty. I'd leave it as is and keep it inexpensive. The skull image is kinda like the image of the Virgin Mary just faint enough to let the mind fill in the details.

Could be any number of reasons why the knife was at the Pawnshop and I wouldn't have any concerns.

Great score!

Congrats Jonnygun,Whatta find!

Now where EXACTLY is this pawn shop?I'd love to browse around.;)

Nice score! I would clean it up but leave the markings. They give the knife a cool story/history.
