I'm posting up one of the largest knives I've made so far. Here is a large D2 bowie. The blade is 3/16" X 2" (widest point) X 10" long. The guard, spacer and buttcap are all copper. The spacer is a piece of bois d'arc from a very old fence post.

When I was finishing out the handle there were two "foreign objects" that showed up in the spacer. The only thing I can figure is that they are some kind of staple or nail that was in the fence post that I did not see when I cut it. I was pretty peeved but they are there and there isn't any way of getting them out short of cutting the handle off and starting over. I can only imagine how old they are considering the source of this wood.

The blade has a full height flat grind. Although this is a large knife it feels much lighter in the hand than it looks like it should. It has a fairly thin edge and slices well. I had considered entering the cutting competition at the Branson hammer in but this knife doesn't have a lanyard hole so it didn't meet the safety requirements.

The handle is a curved piece of elk antler. The buttcap has four mosaic pins in it. All of the copper has a nice patina started and the blade was given a very light etch with ferric chloride.

The sheath is stitched with deerskin and has an elk antler crown on the front.

I have this knife listed on my website at $300 but I'm listing it here for $275 reduced to $250 and I will cover the shipping in CONUS. Any overseas shipping can be negotiated but I would at least split shipping.

Paypal and money order/cashiers check are accepted. The knife will ship priority/insured via USPS unless something else is worked out between myself and the buyer.

A post of "I'll take it" here in the thread overrides any pm's or emails that are pending.

Thank you for looking and if you have any questions or need more pictures please email me or post here and I'll try to get them to you as soon as I can.

Got them both in today, Shawn. I can't thank you highly enough! The Bowie is beautiful beyond imagination. "Defects"??? Where?!?! My Lord, man, there aren't any defects in this beautiful Bowie!!! Oh, you mean the artifacts? lol Seriously, to me, that makes it art. Think of it as an inclusion in amber. It provides context and that means everything to me. I love it. The Camp/Utility knife is absolutely gorgeous, too!!! Shawn, I love these knives. I appreciate you holding them for me and I also appreciate our conversations. I look forward to buying more knives from you in the future!!!

Randy, thanks for the purchases. If you need anything please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,
SDS
