Large Folder

Maybe a user. The aftermarket is crazy on the Rajah 1. I sold one for $189 on fleabay and the closest competitors wanted WELL over $200.

Are you kidding me? I am glad I got mine when I did, maybe it's time to trade it since I use the 2 more (better balance) :D

i just got the cold steel spartan and love it also got a rajah 2, both for under $ 175.00 dollars cant go wrong with both of these.

ive handled the onslaught and i love it. perfect big blade shape, crazy smooth opening, and i just love the looks of it. as far as the espada quality, i would call it good. also you may want to look at a spyderco endura ffg

I have both the Rajah I & II as well as a Black Rhino. All 3 are fine sturdy knives. Each was under $200. I recall I got the rhino for $65 and one of the Rajahs for $90.

the onslaught is an awesome knife. Great slicer and butter-smooth. I used mine to gut fish for a week in Alaska without even a rinse. Still looks new now.

Is the Rajah II still the same size as it was (same as Rajah 1) this year as it was last year? Anyone know? The CS website appears to have them listed as the same as last year's Rajah II. I wouldn't mind having a Rajah II, seems friendly in the hand for hard chops.

i would go for the zt 301/302 with a tidger stripes blade
dear kersawguy on the exchange have some good prices

if not the tiger stripes' you can look for a zt0551

If you are looking for a LARGE folder, take a look at the Cold Steel Ti-Lite, with the 6 inch blade. I have one, and it's a folding sword!

As an update, I received a CS Rajah 2 not too long ago, and it's a monster of a folder!...Even bigger than my 6" Ti-Lite.

If you want a large blade for stabbing, get a 6" Ti-Lite. If you want a large blade for hacking, slicing, & chopping, get a Rajah 2.

The Skirmish is a great all around folder. They can be found on the secondary market. The Rukus is another great folder. I only had a Rukus, but I would definitely go for a mini Rukus. I think it was a hair under 3.5", but still a large folder. It's not in your range, but definitely worth looking at, the Chris Reeve large Sebenza and Umnumzaan. Also the Strider SNG and SMF. All four are great, reliable, working folders. Striders have thick edges and put all the coatings on the blades, but they are still workhorses.

Some friends and members here are very happy with their ZT large folders. I am unsure of which models they were, but I have seen them on a couple episodes of NCIS, also.

The old Spyderco Manix models were well made also.

+1 on Spartans

the Rajah seems to be a niche tool, well made and a good value
some forumites rate them highly. STR has 1. I sold mine.

Benchmade 610 Rukus is not heavy duty [i didn't prefer the blade grind either]
had 1 and sold it.

Ontario Hossom Retribution 1 - the jury is still out AFIAK... definitely worth looking at/
sold mine.

Lone Wolf T3 is ACE [if you can find 1 they are disco'd] sold mine for $375.

ZT 0300 / 0200 are aces as well. I owned and used 1 of each.

Benchmade Skirmish i handled 1 / didn't like it especoially the shape and detail of the handle.

The Manix has some issues in some people's eyes, i never even handled 1 but i've seen
some negative posts on it citing strength and durability issues.
