This is one bad fighter and a really good chopper. Watched a move a while back with one of the characters wielding a pair of large hawk bill fighters that really struck my interest so I decided to put this one together based on my design. Because 5160 spring steel is very tough it was chosen in a hefty 1/4 inch thickness for the job and when properly heat treated it will hold a good edge. The grip is long and comfortable and allows the knife to be held forward or further back in either the forward or reverse grips. The scales are cut from old growth curly Koa wood from Hawaii along with black spacers and fitted to the Hawk Bills full tang with loveless bolts and epoxy. The pommel extends out beyond the scales forming a glass breaker with lanyard hole which can also be used for non-lethal strikes. The sheath is tool 8/9 ounce brown leather with an integral belt loop.
SPECS:
Steel: 5160 1/4" thick carbon steel edge differentially heat treated with an edge approximately 58 Rc.
Blade Length: 10.4 inches long from tip to wood scale, Flat ground with satin steel finish.
Overall Length: 16.8" long
Handle: Curly Koa wood with black spacers
Sheath: Brown leather
Price: $295 shipped in US
I prefer PayPal (my account is kelley_ward@keysight.com) but accept checks and money orders as well.
Thanks,
