I don't make many large knives but I have learned that some people like them big. The handle material is from an elk my neighbor shot this fall (he didn't even invite me along) A hefty knife for the guy with a big hand.

1/8 inch ATS34 heat treated to Rc 58-60
Hollow ground
Highly polished
Elk antler handle
Overall length:10 1/8 inches
Blade: 5 5/8 inches
Hand sewn leather scabbard

What the elk handle size to the guard Gerry?

I am hurting because I was waiting for you to make one of something like that one. It's got buy me all over it :)

The stag part of the handle is 4 1/8 inches. Of course the hand rides another 1/4 inch onto the brass before the forfinger hits the guard. This will give you a 4 3/8 inch grip.
 
Great looking knife, but must be the pics - the blade looks longer than 5 and 5/8" compared to the handle if it is 14 and 1/4" overall.

BTW, love the skinner you just sent to me. Great balance, will be real nice in the field. Sits in the palm of my hand real well.

Thanks for catching the typo Ted. The total length of the knife is 10 1/8 inches. I have corrected the specs. Glad you like the knife; I hope it serves you well over the years.

That's a nice knife good choice I would say.

Received the knife today. Great work again from Gerry.
I have 5 or six from gerry now. The quality is tops as usual! I like the big stag handles. This is a great knife for camp!
