I don't want to poke the bear but can someone tell me what the actual direct from CRK price will be/is on the Large Inkosi?

I wonder because I keep seeing them pop up in the Exchange for $600'ish and folks are acting like that's the price. I have no idea what CRK sold them for at BLADE but I suspect it was something like $450 or $475. I think I saw it somewhere once but can't recall exactly what it was.

I suppose people are just looking to profit of the impatience of others. There's nothing wrong with that. It's a free market. I have no problem with someone asking $1,000 for one. I just want to know for my knowledge what the actual retail price will be when they become readily available.

The CRK price list has the large at $445. Not sure what they sold them for at Blade but I would guess the $445.

That sounds like what I recall seeing. I thought I had read that on the CRK site but frankly I hate going to the site lately. I can't find things I used to know where to find and the pages all take forever to load.

Yeah I notice inflated prices. Not sure who paved almost 600$ or how. Great knife for 445$.
Thanks for asking. I was wondering myself.

At blade they were sold for 445 but there was tax for normal buyers. It was right about $480. When you factor in shipping and PayPal fees you are looking at about $530 something all said and done depending on shipping. So someone selling one who got it from Blade indirectly, now has to add in another fee for shipping and another set of PayPal fees so if they want to break even it's about $570-$580 gross. There was a rush for them right away and people paid $600. I think the dealers got a wack of them because they didn't sell out right away as previously claimed. I'm not even sure that they did sell out. I got one from pretty late in the show and it was still available.

I'm lost. The Inkosi is a small knife only. Do you refer to Insingo?
There was a Large Inkosi introduced just prior to BLADE. It made it's real life debut there.

I hear what you are saying but those fees don't add up that much. Also, if I purchased a NIB Umnum for $425 plus shipping and taxes. Then decided to sell it - NO ONE on the exchange would pay enough to cover all of what I have invested. If I listed it for even $450 or $500 no one would even consider it. IF someone were desperate enough (and Internet shopping challenged) and paid me $500 then decided he too wanted to sell it and recoup all his investment and listed it for $575 .......

Just sayin' /

I get it some people are impatient and will pay overinflated prices to get something a month or two before everyone else. I just wouldn't justify higher than retail prices just to cover someone's investment. I won't pay someone in the secondary market $150 more than I can buy one from a reputable dealer.

I'm anxious to get one but I won't pay more than retail... especially for a used knife.

They should be in dealers hands again soon; I'm fine waiting until then to purchase.

Now that's on the money ∆∆∆

Work on your math again. Let's just use round numbers to make it simple.

$480 with sales tax for the knife in hand at the show.
$30ish to have it ship it fully insured. This covers everyone.

$480 + $30 = $510.

Still with me?

Now Paypal fee estimate 4% so $510 x 1.04 is $530.

So lets say most people got one in hand for $540 all said and done factoring in variances for people. I know several people who got on in that range, including myself.

Now lets say I want to sell it and NET my $540 back.

I have to pay $20 to ship it insured as I am gonna not be too picky about every cent. Now it's $560. Now I want to do things legit sales wise, so I want to use PayPal G&S. I want to net minimum $560 to my account.

$560 x 1.04 is $582.

So now you can see how the $445 price is not what you say it is, unless you could use a dealer to avoid taxes, and someone paid you to go to the show, or did that for you.

Your Zaan has nothing to do with it, because anyone can get a Zaan from a number of dealers right now. The Large Inkosi won't be shipping till late summer or early fall, and if it's like the 25 introduction, next year. People didn't pay heavily inflated internet prices because they suck at math. They paid $540ish because that $100 on top is what it costs to get in hand, and not have to wait for who knows how long.

Fortunately for me, as a former sniper, patience is one of my strongpoints. :D

Nothin wrong with waiting for a better price. It's sure to come. Early adopters always pay premium and some CRK fans will want one out of the first batch. BladeShow is how you get that.

Paypal Fees are also 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fee.

Correct for U.S. based buyers and seller but incorrect if the buyer/seller is International. If you are the U.S based seller and your buyer is from outside of the U.S., then it is 3.9% plus 0.30 transaction fee.

P.S. WTH am I doing in here?! Oh, I saw my Friend's post on my wall and thought I was responding to Survive! Nevermind, but the info is still 100% accurate!

A friend of mine picked me one up from Blade for $445 or around plus the tax...came out to 470ish i think. I just sent him $500 pp gift. He sent it to me in a $5 something priority box..

Sold mine for $500, guy paid me gift. I sent it to him in a $5 something priority box..
