Large Inkosi price

A friend of mine picked me one up from Blade for $445 or around plus the tax...came out to 470ish i think. I just sent him $500 pp gift. He sent it to me in a $5 something priority box..

Sold mine for $500, guy paid me gift. I sent it to him in a $5 something priority box..

Cost me $5 something to check out the new Large Inkosi

Well, I hope it arrives intact, because it's against PayPal ToS to pay for goods via F&F, and the package is not insured, but if you are willing to risk the liability that is fine as well. I'm not!

The paypal conversations concerning friends and family gift or goods does not belong here. Let's keep it civil and take such conversations to the GB&U

Actually none of this matters. Yes list is $445 and lots of people bought some from dealers for that price shipped. For example Knife Arts had them in stock for days. The value of an item is what ever someone is willing to pay for it and the seller really does not need to justify the price they are asking for it. It will sell or it won't. I also think that once dealers get more stock in the value in general will be back at list or less.

I was apprehensive to even comment in the thread but seems everyones throwing around prices and whatnot?

Just shut it down..

Work on your math again. Let's just use round numbers to make it simple.
Thanks for the condescending implication we (really just me) can't do math. You still proved my point though which was I personally wouldn't pay for the taxes, additional fees, shipping, insurance, etc. paid by two previous owners of a used knife. You are completely free to ask whatever you want for a knife you are selling. It's your knife and this is a free market. Someone will probably buy it. It's all good.

My $445 is actually $445. I have a authorized dealer I buy from regularly that sells CRK for CRK prices and includes free shipping. Since it's out of state I pay no sales taxes. There are no credit card fees or Paypal fees to me either so $445 is $445. THAT is simple math. :D

And for the record I wasn't calling YOU out. I was simply asking what the actual CRK price was and wondering why several I had already noticed in the exchange were asking $600'ish for them. I think I did see one in the upper $400 range but that seems to be an anomaly.

You are conflating a knife from a dealer and one from BladeShow. You said the fees don't add up to that price and I showed you how they do. Regardless of your personal spending limit. That's a rough explanation of how they got to that price range. True though that part of it was an artificial scarcity.

You are right no one would pay $600 for a knife they could get for $445. The point is, at that moment there was no dealer with them and it was said dealers would get them late fall early summer which when the 25 came out at BladeShow 2012 it ended up being early 2013.

I don't think most people who ran over to grab an Inkosi right away imagined they would also be at the dealers right away. I suspect they just didn't sell all that well.

Some people wanted the first run as well for their collection.

And NIB is a term we use regularly to describe a knife that is new in box. Not used. Used is a separate category. I think you mean previously owned?

Anyways, I was trying to explain the circumstances of how they got to this price range. Iceman sold his cheap as he completely disassembled it in a video. Definitely not NIB condition.

And as far as mine, I don't think it will sell for anything but a loss as they showed up at dealers, and many people were disappointed in them once pics started to come out so the fire kinda died out. I have to try however.

There's so much condescension in your post I'm just going to let it go. I asked a question (actual CRK price) and it was answered. I also know how one person justifies asking more even though it didn't convince me to pay more than retail.

I do know I didn't conflate anything though. ;)

Do you just mean getting one before they are available at dealers? Or are these marked somehow? Or can you tell by the born on date? Special documentation from Blade Show? I'm just wondering how 5 years from now one would know. Thanks

You won't.

The two things would be the born on date and the packaging.

It's the old box with no "replacement box" sticker on it, no tools and a little plastic bag with the papers in it.

June 1st seems to be the only date.

If more dates turn up and the first offering consisted of multiple runs then perhaps that will change things but the friend who went to the booth for me was told they all have the same date. Could be wrong as he didn't check. He also told me they were sold out which turned out to be wrong.

I am curious about the large Inkosi but not curious enough to pay over retail. Instead I will wait until my favorite online knife site has them in stock for $445 and get one then. I will be able to get it without taxes and with free shipping. It will probably take a few months but that's ok. The 25 I have in my pocket today is far from worn out and is doing just fine for everything I need.

I will try one too this year. Used is better for me. That goes for the first two 21 models I picked up. I don't mind lol. I wonder if they will fix the washers first. That's what I am curious about.

Yep. Curbed my excitement, and awaiting a user. I can - impatiently - wait awhile, and satiate my desire with other Exchange offerings.

Thanks man I bought a small 21 and I love everything about it except its size I got big hands. I was looking at the 25 or the inkosi and I picked the latter seemed like the better deal plus they look almost identical
