Hey guys. This is the first from my batch of AEB-L kitchen knives. The handle is HUGE for a client with the most massive hands i have ever seen. Handle done in desert ironwood. Thoughts?

reaLly cool pc of ironwood! is it flat ground? that is gonna be nice to have around in the kitchen for sure, alot of belly for my tastes but its all in the eyes of the beholder. What is the length of cutting edge , and OAL?

Good looking knife - what thickness is the AEB-L? How long is handle/blade? Sure does look good.

Client wanted a lot of belly. Blade length is 8 inches, total length is 13.5. Can you beleive a 5.5 inch long handle!

And yea, its full flat ground out of 1/8th inch AEB-L

Looks like a workhorse, much like how this guy sounds. It should compliment him well.
I haven't yet found a good way to ask people,"do you have large or small hands" without sounding a bit creepy. But it's a necessity when making a custom blade, the last thing I want is to send a knife off to a gorilla of a man and the handle feel like he's holding onto a pencil.

I just ask. When you go right into explaining that you have to fit the handle to the hand they feel a lot more comfortable.

The knife looks great and I really like the ironwood.

We have several custom kitchen knives with ironwood handles. The handles looked great when they first arrived. Over time the ironwood on every kitchen knife turned very dark.
