Okay, what's your pick and why?

Spyderco Military
Swamp Rat Knives Rat Trap
Blade-Tech Pro-Hunter
Ontario RAT-1
CRKT Carson M21-04
Al Mar Sere 2000

And any others that you like (Emerson, Kershaw, Buck, etc...):)

No frame-locks allowed.

Camillus Cuda Quik-Action.
Buck 880 and 881 models are also excellent and I also have high hopes for the new Kershaw ZT200.

Of the liner locks I've used of late, the two that stick out as being reliable and useful for most tasks are the Spyderco Military and the older Benchmade 800.

The Military is a classic. Light, good cutting blade style, and good steel.

The older 800 (I have a M2HSS) has proven to be a good user due primarily to the great handle shape. Not as good of a slicer as the Military, but superior in the "stabbing" mode. The M2 is as good, if not better than, the S30V.

I trust the locks on both models for pretty heavy use, though not real heavy use (I prefer other locks to go extreme with).

It is hard to imagine a liner lock knife that is stronger and designed for tough duty than my Strider AR.

I have two out of the six you have listed, The Military and the Rat 1. I'm giving the slight nod to the Military only because it is not as heavy as the Rat-1. They are both very capable folders.

Military for sure, especially if it is my peel ply carbon fiber handled one.

Great to see some love for liner locks. When done well they can be superb and I absolutely trust my mili for anything a folder can do.

Too bad there have been so many questionable knives with liner locks made that any knife with this kind of lock is shunned by some people.

I only own the Military in carbon fiber out of the list, and it's an incredible knife. I'll have that Rat Trap I ordered something like five months ago someday, though. Maybe that will give it some competition.

Of the ones listed, I'd have to go with the Al Mar. Of the ones I own, I regularly EDC 2 linerlocks: an EKI CQC7B and a Strider GB. For strict liner lock, I'd go with an AR/GB, though the Hossom DOES look very interesting.

A note, though, between the Blade-Tech and the Swamp Rat, go with whichever one is cheaper, they're made by the same people.

CMD- thanks for posting that picture of the carbon fiber millie- i was wondering how that one looked.now i may have to get one- how do you like it?

I still like my buck 889, so far holds an edge, carries very well after a little sanding and works smooth as silk, oh and it fails the spine whack test but i still think it's my current favorite large liner lock. later, ahgar
if it was just large folder i would have to go with the buck 110

CMD, thanks for the beautiful picture!

SpyderJon,

Thanks for the info, I had no idea.

How about the CRKT Crawford/ Kasper large folder liner lock. I've had mine for years and I really like the safety on it.

Another vote for a Crawford/Kasper, but when you say "Large Liner-lock" the first knife I think of is the CUDA Maxx. Now that's a Knife!

I'm going to give my nod to two knives.

1. Military. I've handled quite a few liner lock knives, and the Millie just stands out. Lightweight, and the lockup is absolutely rock solid. I trust it way more than I do my Commander, and I like my Commander alot.

2. Benchmade Gravitator. Same thing. The lockup is tight! I'm not sure if it qualifies as a liner lock or framelock though. The specs call it a liner lock, but if anyone has handled one, they can attest that it's basicly a framelock with a g-10 cover on one side.
