Large Micarta pictures..

I really like the Micarta Inlays and don't think you will be dissapointed Dave. To me they are very utilitarian. Kind of like a regular classic on steriods. The Micarta doesn't have the charachter of the woods but the combination of the relative indestructability and the grippiness of the Micarta and the tumbled blade make it a great no worry daily carry. Add the serrations and I think you have a great and very versitle knife.

Congrats on the knife:thumbup: I have been EDC my small micarta inlay for a year and have the large size coming this week.
I got a plain large classic and my small micarta just blew it away, so I ordered the large to match.
Micarta + sebenza= Best Folder Ever!!!

Think I'll go turn my matte screws around right now. Thanks for great pics guys.

Check the micarta out on this one of Neil's! If it was serrated and single thumb lub I'd been on that like a duck on a bug as they say.

It's funny how these threads come back around. Just made a deal today for a new large micarta Seb with duel thumbers. It should be here mid next week. Very excited. Now my small micarta will have a big brother. Might just have to get a Damascus blade for that one too.
DOH!

Dave I believe that I saw a right hand large micarta on Neils website with serrations. Check it out it has a single thumblug.;)

Well, I posted this in the other thread as well, but since this seems to be the Lg. Micarta thread I, and a good friend of mine, thought it might deserve a pic here as well. That and I'm pretty proud of it.:D This is my Lg. Micarta w/ Blue thumblug, spacer and matte screws. Just came from the shop a few days ago...what do you all think! I like this set up alot!

The other one is my new old stock Lg. BG42 Trailing Moon graphic!

Thanks for letting me share in the fun!

Great picture Steven.

I like yours with the matte screws, Jprice, but I think I prefer the silver thumbstud a little more. To each their own

Dave, I've noticed that the micarta differs alot in different pictures. Mine is almost "curly", whereas almost every picture I've seen online is straight and dark. The micarta on mine gets darker after awhile, I think from oils from the hand, etc. After washing the handles with a soapy toothbrush and water, the micarta turns very light, it looks really cool.

I think the fact that micarta does this gives it a much more "real" look and feel than G-10. G-10 will always be the same color, but micarta changes, absorbs water, etc.

If I were you, I don't think I would base what you want on the picture. Unless TNK said that that picture was of the specific knife, it's possible you could get a completely different one. I would ask them about it. Keep in mind that the color may change like mine does, too. Washing it always restores it back to a brand new, great looking gray color.

You'll enjoy it if you get it

Large Micarta is the way to go! I just got one with double thumbstuds and serrations and it is my favorite Sebbie yet!

I am breaking several comandments here. I am worship a false God, I am lusting and I am enveying. I have a small classic plain. I want a large classic Micarta.

I know you'll really enjoy it! Believe it or not, these have many miles on 'em. :)

I love that pair. Very nice.

Does the micarta cause more friction when drawing it from the pocket, less, or create no difference?

Keep those great pics coming.

Thanks.

Great photos, Django606:

The micarta Sebenza is the finest knife in the world, in my humble opinion. It offers the finest grip, and of course the finest edge. Your photos do it so much justice. I am so proud to own a large micarta Sebenza.

Thank You.

Great question, really never gave it much thought......until now. Slight, I'd call it reassuring friction. :D

I've got the bloodwood as well, kinda glides out, unlike the mic...

you guys are making me want one..

I know what you mean. I carry my small micarta every day but for some reason I've been getting the itch for a large micarta. Been trying to push that itch away because I just bought a mnandi. But this thread isn't helping, not one little bit. Dang it.

;)

Sell me the Mnandi then get a Lg Mic....simple.. :D

Got a large from a good man, who is on the CR forum. I sent it back to CR, to have a single tumb lug installed, it had double, and to have the blade polished. I have not got it back yet. Sure would like to have a small to go with it. On a couple knives that I turned the screws around, the knives where real hard to open. I have not tried to turn anymore around.

But that would leave me with a hole in my lineup, which is why I need the Lg Mic in the first place!

But thanks for trying to help out a fellow forumite. I really appreciate it. :D

Everyone should own the large micarta sebbie. It's just about the perfect modern pocket knife. Comfortable and secure in the hand, easy to operate, an appropriate size blade for most any EDC task, super well made, etc.
