large mora tang

A while back someone posted an actual x-ray of various mora models that showed clear as day the depth and shape of the tangs. I've been looking for that picture with no success -- hopefully someone can repost it to link to it.

lol, google image search "mora xray"... :p

I have one of those. I don't know what kind of tang it has. I might take it out to the garage and drill a couple holes to see.

This is the 7.25" mora blade blank offered. I would presume it is similar to the knife you showed, but I don't the length of the one you are looking at. Photo courtesy of Ben's backwood's site.

jim, you can use a magnet held against the handle to tell you where the tang ends if you want to preserve your handle...

Guess I will try it tomorrow. My brother and nephew caught me to do a little carpenter job. I wasn't fast enough.:D

I will try that too. I might go ahead and drill a lanyard hole and see if anything is there. I can drill through the handle and blade with a solid carbide drill bit.

Hey Riley it looks very similar to this one of mine, it ain't a full tang( maybe about 3/4 ) but longer than a normal Mora's. I would doubt very much if they would fail due to the tang given just how long it is !
