Large or small Sebenza?

Get the small, I have a large and I find it to be a little large for EDC.
Which knives do you already have?

I collect larges but prefer to carry smalls, fwiw. Everything new always starts with the large size.

Whichever you get, I'd go plain Jane (no inlays) on a long-term user. Just my .02.

Professor.

Has anyone ever ordered from Edged Specialties,,,found something i am interested in but they have no # to call and talk to anyone,,,,,email only.I find this a little distracting and not real comfortable with.

Iv'e heard of them but never ordered form them.
Good dealers off the top of my head are:

Or you can just have one made to your liking from Chris Reeve Knives themselves.

Call Dan at Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa. I agree with professor. Go plain jane for a user or if you really want an inlay go for the micarta. The satin blade shows fingerprints and scratches more than the stonewashed blade.

Wow for awhile there my head was absolutely spinning going back and forth on what to get.For a minute i was really stuck on some Unique Large Sebes(WOW seen some really cool ones)but at the end when i found it it made a ton of sense to me.

After listening and looking and listening and looking, first of all i wanted a CLASIC Sebe, most of the ones i seen were wood inlays which are beautiful but i was drawn to the UNIQUE ones. Now the problem i was haveing was most of the UNIQUE Sebes were too nice for EDC in my opinion.

Well finally i found the perfect
for my first CRK Sebe,,,drumroll please,,,,,,Large CLASSIC Sebe "FREEDOM" with reverse silver contrast.

Glad you have chosen. i love the Freedom graphics except I like the anodized flag version much more.

I carry a Small for EDC. But if I'm heading into the woods or working on the back 40, then I bring the Large along as well. Bottom line: Get the Small now . . . and the Large later. . . .

Great choice.
"The Sebenza" is large.
From what read the large is the right decision.
The small is a nice EDC and capable of doing most things, but whenever I go out of the city the large fit's better.
If you can carry a large, go for it.

I too like the large. The small has a smaller thumblug. I prefer the larger thumblug. The large just feels better to me. I got a mnandi for my gents knife and sold off my small. Although nice it always felt just a little too small.

Like some others, I prefer the Large over the Small, but that doesn't prevent me from buying specimens of the Small. Which is best for you depends on you, such as how you carry the knife, and your hand size. I carried a Large Sebenza in my left-rear pocket for years. If I were to carry it in a front pocket, I'd probably prefer the Small. I now carry in an open-top leather vertical belt sheath, and find it to be ideal, for me.

Also, if you start with a Large, it is much easier to trade down to a Small if you find it to be too large for your preference.

Not too long ago I was in your position. I acquired a used small 21 from a member on this forum. I immediately realised the exceptional quality of the knife. I found the small to be dainty in my hand. I then ordered a large 21 from True North Knives. The large fit the bill perfectly. Clipped in the FR pocket fine. The fit in the hand is perfect for me. It became my immediate EDC. The soft finish on the Titanium frames shows every little scuff and mark like a sore thumb would appear, so I smoothed the frames with fine emery cloth. Voila! The perfect user EDC. Then I started worrying about losing a $385.00 knife. Searched for a replacement knife for EDC. Purchased a ZT 0350 for $90.00 and the quality of the ZT is excellent, so much so that I now realise that the Large Sebbie is worth every penny of it's cost and the ZT is an incredible value. Now to today. Seeing how I'm a collector of high end automatic knives in NIB condition I know the value of excellence. Therefore, I prize the Sebenza as THE state of the art folding knife and ordered a new one from Knivesshipfree.com. When it arrives I'll look at it and put it away as NIB for my collection. Now I still carry the ZT 0350 the majority of the time, but some days I'll grab the EDC large Sebenza 21. Also, with the knowledge of the value of the ZT line, I got on Dave's pre-order list for the ZT 0551. I anticipate getting two to keep one NIB for the collection.

This hobby is an addiction. You be be afflicted.
