CRK Brothers and Sisters,

I just picked this one up off the exchange. It is my 1st Large Seb. I'm sure most of you saw the listing, but I am interested to know your thoughts and opinions on this one...

I just got my first sebbie today so I dont know a whole lot about them, but it looks like a very loved blade!

I think the older ones are real sharp looking.

Enjoy it.

Yeah, I saw that one. I seriously thought of adding it to my stable....

I forget the price, but it's a really nice user knife. Don't be afraid to put it through it's paces.

I saw it also and for a fair price (same as a new 21). I'm knife broke, otherwise I had the opportunity to jump on it and definitely would have. It is an ideal piece. Nice catch.

Great catch. Seems to me these older regulars are getting harder to find and much coveted by collectors so you are fortunate. I'm surprised a few others saw it and did not buy it before you! Had I seen it I would have!!! I have a small regular and love it. The handle shape and blade shape set it apart from the 21s.

Nice score. I've been looking for a left handed one, but they don't turn up very often.

I don't own one of the older ones, but that one was very temping when I say it. It is a nice piece. Good catch.

Thanks for the kind words folks--this forum is always so helpful and kind--what a great place!
I am planning on sending it back to CRK for the spa treatment--I would like to keep all the original hardware except the backspacer and thumb lug--I will have them replace those with new silver hardware to match the silver hardware on my small Reg.

You couldn't pick a better Sebenza to start your addition. I have a particular fondness for large Regulars myself. Congratulations And welcome to our little therapy group! Perhaps "therapy" is that wrong word. "Enablers" may be more appropriate. :)

If you really want to go crazy, have the shop grind a swedge on that bad boy. Those are pretty sweet.

Perfect and I agree with Haze. What a complete let down that regulars are no longer going to be available.

Dallas--I emailed CRK to see if they would be willing to grind a swedge. I really like the look of the swedge on my small Insingo.

Has anyone had experience with getting a "reissued" birth card and box? One of my concerns of buying this one was the lack of the original box, etc. I emailed CRK and they said they can reissue a BC and box, but it will have "reissue" written on it. I don't really know the implications of having a reissue, but I just prefer to have some type of paperwork to go along with the knife.

I think CR knives with reissue cards are worth the same or only very slightly less than ones with original cards.

Sadly, they are no longer offering the swedge as an option.

I hope to have this one delivered to me by early next week and then it will be sent off to the spa. I will post before and after pics.

You could also lay off the spa for now since that option should always be there anyway and enjoy the knife as is. Knife looks to be in great shape, I would rock it with its war scars.

I love the worn look too--My Insingo is starting to have a few battle scars. That's the thing--I want them to be MY battle scars, not someone else's! That's the reason for the spa trip. Plus I want it to match my small Reg with silver hardware as well as get the re-issued BC/Box.
