Large Reg From the Exchange

I love the worn look too--My Insingo is starting to have a few battle scars. That's the thing--I want them to be MY battle scars, not someone else's! That's the reason for the spa trip. Plus I want it to match my small Reg with silver hardware as well as get the re-issued BC/Box.

 These are fun times. Happy for ya!

CRK and they said they can reissue a BC and box, but it will have "reissue" written on it.

I have a NIB small Seb with box and blue but no birthcard. How will "they" affix a date?

And, YES, I'd love to have a regular "sometime" but my Classic is my baby.

They put down what they know about it, not usually an actual date. It's basically certified authentic, but not fully identified.

Sonny--I am unsure if they will put a specific date, or just the time period as indicated by the stamps inside the handle. Once I get it back I will post the process and pics of what I get back.

If you send it to the spa, they can re-issue a card stating which sebenza it is and when (the date) it was refurbished. The swedge on the regular is too good, sad day when they discontinued it (I think it's been over a year now).

Received my purchase on Saturday--thanks to Burnside--he is a good seller and item was described accurately and was shipped properly.

For those of you who saw the listing before me and did not act--sorry, you made a regretful CRK decision! I'm sure you will recover, but you should have a bitter taste in your mouth--this knife is SWEET!

Once I received it I disassembled, cleaned, and lubed it. There was a slight amount of corrosion on the washers that left a slight discoloration on the internal side of the handles. Also, there was a tiny amount of surface rust spots, but 99% of it wiped right off with some Benchmade knife cleanser/lube solvent. I switched the screws back to their "correct" orientation, reassembled, and began to thoroughly enjoy owning it--after giving it a little maintenance love I can now call her "mine."

She is as smooth as any other Sebenza I have, has the typical slightly sticky lock Regs suffer from, but lockup is early and ROCK solid. She needed a few passes on the strop and is now back to being hair shaving sharp. I think I am going to pass on sending her in for a spa treatment for now. She doesn't need anything and I like her distressed scales--adds to the character.

The Large Regular Sebenza is easily the Best Folder Ever Made. I have had other Great folders by some of the top makers, but that Large Regular is something special. I even put it ahead of the Large P Sebenza and Way Ahead of the Classic/21 Sebenza. Cant wait to get my hands on a Sebenza 25 to compare it too. Until then, the Large Regular Sebenza Remains The Undisputed Champ in my book.

Folks. . . This one was sent off to CRK a month ago for a spa treatment. The UPS truck is scheduled to deliver her to me today. I will post pics and a report once I receive it.

Nice can't wait for the unveiling:thumbup: I'm hoping my 25 will make it to LaGrange soon. Maybe today

Fresh from the spa with the following having been done to it:
Sandblast (took a little off the ribs on the back of the spine of the handles, but that's the price you pay)
New washers
New SILVER hardware
New CRK bling lanyard
Kept the original screws and pins on it
Did NOT have the blade tumbled or sharpened--it was already sharp and the blade has a few scratches, but I want to preserve the Reg shape as long as possible
New box, re-issued birthcard with the date of the refurb, and a new CRK cloth. They even kept the old washers and backspacer for me (in the green tape)

Awesome, now go out and put your own personal (and memorable) scratches on it. It came out Real Nice, Congrats.

Really nice. I just purchased an S30V large Reg. Waiting for delivery. I've been looking for a while, but the left handed ones are few and far between. Mine has double lugs with sort of a ramp on the lock bar so you can access the off-side lug. I would have slightly preferred a single lug, just because it's more minimalist, but the double is cool too. Probably going to send it in for the exact same treatment yours got. The silver hardware looks great. How long was the turn around?

I have a small reg with double lugs and that little ramp--it's done quite well and looks nice. The turnaround time was about a month. Heather at CRK is awesomne and provides excellent customer service.

Well, it sure came out great... The silver hardware is really classy and clean looking.
