Large Setscrew Hole OK for Drive Wheel?

I'm waiting for a motor to arrive. The motor I have has a 7/8" shaft. The motor I ordered has a 1 1/8" shaft. My drive wheel is a 4" wheel from Oregon Blade Maker, and obviously, it has a 7/8" hole.

I have to bore the wheel out. No problem there. But I also expect to have to do some work on the set screw hole, which is situation midway along the length of the wheel. Not sure yet.

The existing threads may be erased or shortened too much to be useful when I remove 1/8" from the wheel's ID. I can drill the hole out and thread it for a larger screw. Here's what I'm wondering: do I have to worry about a larger hole causing problems with belts? Is there a limit to how big the hole can be before it causes an issue? I suppose I might have to go as big as 3/8".

I would assume it doesn't matter at all, but I thought I would ask.

No issue if it's deburred i would be more worried about balance if you have to go that big.

I would do what you need to do in order to mount it and fire it up. If it vibrates begin drilling from the opposite side but not the whole way. Just go a ways and test. Stop drilling when it smooths out.
