I'd like to see a 5" Spyderco with a good point, like the Chinook II or the Persian; a lockback; and, fully ambidextrous for both tip up and tip down carry.

Add a stainless steel handle to that and it would be absolutely perfect :D !

Longhorn? No way!! I would not be allowed to own a knife called a longhorn! Sooner Born and Sooner Bred, and when I die, I'll be Sooner Dead!!

Sounds very cool to me and boy am I glad they went with g10. Stainless would be ok, as long as it was radiused and had g10 inserts.

What was the blade shape like on the proto?

as far as names go how about the Spydercanaor the Spyderco two-step, like texas two-step or just give me two steps, from the skynard song;-)>

I've got a really bad Spyderco fixation problem and love BIG blades.

This Bison would replace my Cuda Maxx as an EDC (carry the Maxx and one of the following: Native, Chinook, Lum Chinese, Civilian or Endura).

Pretty please with sugar on top Sal :D

We need another mega folder in the line up. I hope this makes it to production.

As far as a name, how about ...... B.A.S.K.?

Big A#@ Spyderco Knife!

Now Garrett .... :D you do know that in Texas, burnt orange is a favorite color. I'm bettin that you've secretly got a burnt orange jacket or two tucked away in the ole closet ... :D

In all seriousness, I used to work in downtown Dallas many years ago. Once each year (I think it was the UT / A&M game) some older gents would don their burnt orange jackets and go around singing University of Texas songs in public in the business district. VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS in Texas .. :D

I saw that Bison at the Spirit of Steel knife show in Dallas Texas. I would be in line to buy one of the first ones that they make. I have suggested that they make a version of that knife with a big Gut Hook and call it the "Supreme Hunter". I would also like to see it with a G-10 handle with a big logo of Spydie right on the side. Yes!!! Bring it On!!! :)

I'm with Dirk. Get Kit Carson to design it and then go with the BASK name. A winner all the way around!

As much as I'd like to see a pic of this new megafolder, Sal's probably got the right idea by not posting one.

Reason being, if Spyderco posts a pic here today, three weeks from now we'll see it on that goof-ball late night knock-off knife show being hawked by that pair of simple-simon rednecks as the "newest 'kustom dee-zine' straight to you(!) made with the finest 'Sur-ji-cal stainless steel' at the un-bee-leeve-able low price of $1.49 per frame. That's right Folks! We're blowin' these frames out as part of Todd Tard's Big'uns Bow-nan-Za!!"

I'm definately looking forward to adding a Spyderco megafolder to my collection.

Even if it wasn't legal to carry in my state(it is legal here in Fla. to carry one in a pouch or otherwise not concealed) I'd get one just so I could have it in my Spyderco family. :D

GOOD NEWS seeing this thread!

Any chance this guy is gonna have a navaja style to it? Maybe not the nosy lock but the swept lines of handle and blade would be cool and they seem to have typicaly been pretty big knives. A Spyvaja?

Well anyway I can dream right?
