View attachment 36105Here we have one of my large stag hunters in W2 with a 1000 grit finish and hamon. The blade is around 5 inches long and it has a big, hand filling handle. Thanks, guys. I try to make a few of these larger 5 inch stag and W2 hunters every year. For some reason, a number of them have been snapped up in the past by folks from Europe. Every time that I have had one of these biggies at the Gembloux, Belgium show, they have flown off the table early the first day and a couple of times, knifemakers bought them.

But, like over here, a lot of them like cheap. The fist time that i sold a couple of these at the Belgian show was in 2009 which was the fist year that they set up a special 2 hour Friday night showing of the regional hunting groups. In many places in Western Europe, "hunter" still translates to "old guy with a lot of money" because it is such a pain to get a hunting license and a place to hunt over there. The upside is that in places like Germany, if you are going to your happy hunting ground, you can walk into a bank in your funny outfit with a pistol on your hip and nobody will bat an eye. You can also sell you kill to restaurants, etc. Membership has its privileges.
