Large Steel Ball Needed

There's a guy on ebay that sells all sorts of ball bearings, I don't know about 2.25, but I know he has 2.5" and 3" steel balls. http://stores.ebay.ca/ToolSupply

What size is the steel ball that you want to test an anvil?

I think the general is 1" for a anvil rebound test. I am wanting to make some dies for my press out of the ball.split the ball in half and weld to a plate. just an idea i have been wanting to try. a 3" or even 4" would probably work better.
