Guyon said:I keep finding the buffalo horn and the delrin but no bone. Who sells the bone versions of Moore Makers?
What should I expect to pay for a buffalo horn version?
longbeachguy said:I vote for the Mooremaker 3 7/8 inch punchblade stockman in either Delrin or Buffalo Horn. These are made for MM on contract by Camillus. The bone and Stag MM's are made by Queen. I don't have anything against the Queens, in fact I have never held one. However I have the Delrin and Horn models, and they are my favorite carries. I also have a Case large stockman in CV. Nice but not enough snap in the springs. Also too rounded and overpolished. I also have an Indian head from the Olbertz Solingen factory. Very nice but the MM's a little bigger. MM's 1095 carbon is great as well.
If you want something kind of fancy that also makes a great user, Fightin Bulls are great but you have to watch what kind of steel is used. Wendell Carson makes these knives and sells them on ebay under the name Knifeman 110. I think a lot of the parts come from Queen and Olbertz. I think he uses a lot of 420 HC but also other steels as well. You just have to watch that if it makes a difference to you.
